Pumped

A visiting plumber recently alerted us that it was probably time to get our septic tank emptied. Joy. But actually I like the fact that our water goes back into the ground after filtering through the tank, rather than using mains sewerage services. The run off area has very green grass and I'll be planting some new bushes on it this year. The truck showed up and in no time at all was gone again. Phew.

  1. Have to agree with you there :-) just another 'glimpse of daily life' that's definitely not always exciting.

  2. Fortunately it ended way better than the Father Ted episode.

  3. we currently have a very smelly boggy patch in our lawn, apparently an overflow pipe or something, as long as its not coming back up the loo i dont care.
one question, how did the plumber know that it needed emptying??? (we've never had septic before)

  4. He looked in the septic inspection port. Funnily enough, no smells at all since it was emptied. Jo, someone warned us against one local operator so if you need a recommendation let me know.
