On Sunday I spent all day at Waterworks Reserve for the Hobart Walking Club's 'essential skills' training. Every prospective member has to complete this training in bush survival skills and navigation within the first twelve months before they can become a full member of the club. It is led by experienced bushwalkers and long-term club members. Pleased to say that I now know how to use the compass I have owned for the last few months! Now I just have to keep the practice up.
